Rotherham Bridge Joints

Client: Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber

Products: Type 5 Reinforced Elastomeric Expansion Joints & Nosing Mortar

Upon excavation of the central pier joint at Talbot Road, it was discovered that the expansion gap was much larger than anticipated. Taking into account the temperature and the movement range of the structure, we liaised with the client and came up with a more suitable alternative which was a larger joint to suit the need.

Works carried on with the other two joints being installed whilst the larger joint was procured from Italy. We have now successfully completed Talbot Road Bridge, Bessemer Way Bridge & Brookhouse Bridge, all to programme.

They are working within the programme considering the amount of extra work required due to the unforeseen obstacles.”
